About the Programs
The Honors college offers numerous opportunities for academic enrichment in fields of research
The Office of Undergraduate Research provides students the opportunity to participate in research as early as their first semester on campus. Every semester, many Honors College students take advantage of the resources provided by this office to match with a professor doing research in their field of interest. Opportunities at West Virginia University include:
-
Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP): allows freshmen, sophomores and juniors with limited university research experience to use federal work-study funds or gain course credit for undergraduate research apprenticeships with WVU research faculty in both STEM and non-STEM fields; and
-
Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE): is an eight-week summer undergraduate research experience for students interested in careers in research or graduate school within their disciplines
More opportunities both at West Virginia University and outside West Virginia University can be found on the Undergraduate Research website.
