Faythe Thurman, MA, MS

Faythe Thurman is a recent member of the WVU community, having joined in January 2021. As a librarian, she works closely with the WVU Cancer Institute and the School of Nursing, as well as the Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, and Hematology/Oncology departments from the School of Medicine. During her prior experience co-teaching research and writing seminars in a pre-veterinary program and working with veterinary medicine students and faculty on research, she found a passion for guiding and supporting students in what is often their first independent research project. Thurman felt that the Honors EXCEL program was an excellent way to continue that work. Her goal is to help Honors EXCEL students build their skills and confidence as researchers while they pursue projects they are passionate about. 

In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, and exploring museums and historic sites.
