different cultures, become an active global citizen and maybe learn a new language through the Honors in Action Global badge.
How to Earn the Badges
Below are examples of activities that could help you earn each Global level badge. The lists are not all inclusive. You can also suggest your own experiential learning activities!
White Level
Participate in any:
- WVU Honors College one or two-credit study abroad trip
- WVU Education Abroad one or two-credit study abroad trip
Blue Level
- Participate in any WVU Education Abroad three to six-credit study abroad
trip
- Earn 135 or more hours of a globally focused internship abroad
- Complete the Global Mountaineers Certificate Program
- Be awarded and complete a short-term nationally competitive scholarship such
as the Gilman International Scholarship
Gold Level
- Spend one or more semesters abroad
- Be awarded and complete a long-term competitive scholarship such as the Critical
Language Scholarship, the Boren Scholarship, Euroscholars or Freeman-ASIA
