Honors in Action allows you to develop knowledge, skills and competencies through
curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular experiential learning. You'll earn
badges through Suitable, a student engagement platform that allows for easy sharing
on social media, your resume and personal website.
Joining the Program
All WVU students who meet the criteria below are welcome to apply for Honors
in Action.

Current Honors Foundations Students
- Apply during your second year in Honors Foundations
- Have a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA

Other WVU Students
- Apply during your junior year
- This includes students who previously completed Honors Foundations
- Have a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA
Program Requirements
- Complete the Career Ready badge
- Complete
four of these multi-level badges:
- Research
- Global
- Internship
- Service
- Creative
Completing Badges
How you complete the four badges is up to you. Each has three levels - white, blue and gold. Colors are only reflective of the time commitment and challenge of the opportunities.
For example, you can:
- Complete the white, blue and gold levels of the Global badge and the white level of the Research badge
- Complete the white levels of Research, Creative, Internship and Service badges
- Complete the white Creative, blue Global, white Service and blue Internship badges
