A professor in the Division of Animal and Nutritional Sciences and inaugural director of the University’s intercollegiate undergraduate program in biochemistry was named dean of the WVU Honors College in 2015.

Dr. Damien Clement

Associate Dean

Dr. Damien Clement is a professor in the College of Applied Human Sciences at West Virginia University and is associate dean of the Honors College.

Trista Bunner

Recruitment Specialist

Trista Bunner joined the Honors College team in March 2024 as a recruitment specialist. She previously worked for WVU Office of Admissions from the time she was a student to finishing her master's.

Colin Gooding

Records Officer

Colin Gooding is a West Virginia native that wandered away for a while before he found his way home to WVU for his undergraduate education.

Dr. Kevin Gooding

Living-Learning Community Coordinator

A nearly-native West Virginian, Dr. Kevin Gooding joined the Honors College as a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in June 2016, after serving as an instructor since 2010.

Brian Hoover

Development Officer

Brian Hoover joined the Honors College Team in July 2018. In his role as development officer, he focuses on fundraising, alumni relations, and scholarship development.

Jordan Carneal

Administrative Assistant

Jordan Carneal joined the Honors College in July 2021. She schedules meetings for the dean and associate dean as well as orders supplies for Honors faculty and staff.

Program Director - Honors College First-Year Experience

Dr. Ashley Watts joined the Honors College in January 2016. She coordinates the mentoring and tutoring programs in the Honors College and is the faculty sponsor for the Mountaineer Tutoring Network.
